About us

Sigma Metals is an S corp., woman-owned small business located at 45 Jefryn Blvd in Deer Park, NY. Our 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse contains a recently purchased 60" shear and an 8" bar saw used to cut material to specific customers' requirements. Our proximity to airports and piers allows us to deliver materials on our company owned truck at a considerable savings to cost and time.

The products sold are primarily aluminum, stainless and titanium aircraft quality materials. These products have been purchased at very competitive prices, which allows us to sell both aerospace and commercial metal users throughout the U.S. and international markets. A profitable advantage that gives us an edge over our competition is our ability to add significant value to standard materials by sawing, shearing, chem.-milling, polishing and heat-treating the products to customers' specifications. Our existing customers have been with us since the onset and new international customers will become a significant portion of our expanded growth.

Our customers include the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, sub-contractors, original equipment manufacturers and various government agencies. We created our niche with the ability to supply non-standard, out-of-production items quickly and at a reasonable cost with full traceability. Our inventory supports these sales opportunities and our knowledge of various sources throughout the world makes it all possible.

Our location in Deer Park, L.I. is located near many of the freight terminals we use to ship merchandise out-of-state.

Our own truck is used for deliveries to local customers, airports and piers in the tri-state area.

Since we lease our present warehouse facilities, we can lease additional space very quickly as needed.

Our equipment (shear, saw, truck and forklift) are all owned by Sigma.

About the Principals

Sigma Metals, Inc. was started on June 6, 1994 by George Elkins and Carole Tate.

George Elkins, Executive Vice President, began his career in the metals business in 1956 at Tube Distributors in Garden City, N.Y. In 1969, he moved to General Aerospace Materials in Plainview, N.Y. In 1994, he resigned as Executive Vice-President and partner to start Sigma Metals, Inc.

Carole Tate, President, began her career in the metals business in 1965 at Atlas Supply in Mineola, N.Y. She continued with General Aerospace Materials in Plainview, N.Y. and Generation Metals in Hauppauge, N.Y. She resigned from General Aerospace to start Sigma Metals, Inc.

Joseph Coonan, Vice President International Sales - Joined Sigma in December, 2001. He brings 25 years of experience in export sales. He has created an extensive organization of agents throughout the world.
